Role Overview
As a Field Operator for Drilling and Completions Fluids at Baker Hughes, you will be responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and operation of specialized tools and equipment used in oilfield services. This role involves both technical execution and administrative reporting to ensure safe and efficient operations at job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Job Preparation and Maintenance: Prepare for upcoming jobs by performing comprehensive tool maintenance, including both pre-job and post-job tool checkout procedures.
Equipment Management: Troubleshoot equipment issues, manage maintenance schedules, and order necessary equipment and supplies to ensure operational readiness.
Safety and Compliance: Strictly adhere to all Baker Hughes Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures. Participate in all required safety meetings and conduct business according to legal and compliance requirements and core values.
Reporting and Documentation: Complete all job-related paperwork and records for yourself and assigned crews, including the preparation of daily operational reports.
Special Projects: Handle additional special projects and tasks as assigned by management to support business needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or an equivalent qualification (KCSE).
Experience: A minimum of 4 years of related experience is preferred; specific product line training is required.
Technical Skills: Solid computer navigation skills are essential for communication, daily job reporting, and other work-related tasks. A strong mechanical aptitude is necessary for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Operational Availability: Ability to work on-call 24/7 and flexibility to work at remote job sites for extended periods.
Safety Awareness: A deep awareness of HSE compliance and the ability to identify potential risks.
Health Requirement: This role requires full vaccination for COVID-19 prior to beginning work as part of the company's commitment to health and safety.
