The Reconciliation Analyst at Faulu Microfinance Bank (an Old Mutual Kenya subsidiary) is responsible for the reconciliation of bank and customer accounts. The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure adherence to processes, preparing reconciliation status reports, and acting as a control measure to safeguard bank assets from potential losses. You will interact with internal and external stakeholders to understand user department requirements and ensure the integrity of financial data.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reconciliation: Collate data from bank accounts, analyze for reconciliation, identify variances, and notify relevant stakeholders for resolution.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage managers and stakeholders within user departments to coordinate reconciliation activities and ensure timely rectifications are made.
Account Management: Ensure timely completion of reconciliation for all assigned accounts and organize necessary supporting documentation.
Transaction Processing: Process rectification entries within defined policy thresholds and handle branch queries regarding reconciliation requirements.
Monitoring & Reporting: Track and monitor reconciliation activities across branches and head office units including Finance, HR, Credit, Bancassurance, Treasury, and Cash Operations.
Continuous Improvement: Prepare status summary reports (matrix reports) and identify opportunities for performance enhancements through technical or process improvements.
Team Collaboration: Resolve concerns raised by the team and escalate issues to appropriate levels when necessary.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Professional Certification: CPA or ACCA certification is mandatory.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of Bank Reconciliation practices and general accounting principles.
AML Compliance: Responsibility for adhering to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), KYC, and Sanctions-related policies and procedures.
Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Soft Skills: Strong work ethics, research skills, ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage conflicts effectively.
