Job Description
Our client, a premium hotel, is seeking a proactive Events Captain to oversee the planning and flawless execution of banquets, conferences, and special events. The role ensures every function is delivered to the highest standards, creating memorable experiences for guests.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Event Coordination: Overseeing event setup, service, and breakdown of events according to the Banquet Event Order and client specifications. This includes checking room layout, décor, table settings, and audio-visual equipment.
Client Relations: Serving as the main point of contact for the client/guest host during the event to quickly address any issues, special requests, or last-minute changes, ensuring guest satisfaction.
MICE Execution: Plan, organize, and execute Meetings, Incentive, Conferences and Events (MICE) to ensure client satisfaction.
Departmental Liaison: Liaising effectively with other departments, primarily the culinary team for timing and food presentation and other requirements.
Regulatory Compliance: Monitoring staff adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including HACCP.
Inventory & Cost Control: Managing inventory of equipment and supplies, and sometimes assisting with labor cost control and scheduling.
Team Management: Leading, training, and motivating the banquet staff to ensure high standards of service and professionalism.
Operational Efficiency: Ensure all events run smoothly and efficiently, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Inquiry Handling: Handle client inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records of events, inventory, and staff schedules.
Marketing: Assist in marketing and promoting banquet services.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
Diploma in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Banquet Supervisor or similar role for not less than 3 years in a 3-5 star rated hotel.
