The Elementary School (ES) Homeroom Teaching Assistant at the International School of Kenya supports student learning, wellbeing, and classroom operations. Working in close collaboration with faculty, students, families, and the community, Teaching Assistants help build a culture grounded in trust and facilitate learning environments that promote belonging, inclusion, equity, justice, and well-being for all learners.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with homeroom teachers to support experiential, integrated, and personalized educational experiences.
Assist in active classroom instruction, student supervision, and individual student support.
Help maintain a positive, student-centered learning environment that nurtures Passion, Creativity, and Ambition.
Participate in collaborative planning and teamwork to ensure the success of each student.
Requirements and Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Education.
Special Education certification or training is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working with students and collaborating with teachers.
Fluent English speaker with strong mathematics, reading, writing, and communication skills.
Familiarity with technology and online applications.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and adaptability skills.
