Role Overview
The English/Literature Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality instruction in accordance with the curriculum, ensuring student engagement, and providing academic guidance and support.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction and Lesson Delivery: Plan and teach English and Literature lessons in line with the curriculum, using appropriate teaching methods to support student understanding and engagement.
Assessment and Evaluation: Prepare tests, assignments, and exams; mark and provide feedback; monitor and record students' academic progress.
Classroom Management: Maintain discipline, create a safe and inclusive learning environment, and manage student behavior effectively.
Student Support and Guidance: Mentor and guide students on academic and personal development, identify learning difficulties, and refer cases where necessary.
Professional and Administrative Duties: Attend staff meetings, prepare schemes of work and lesson plans, keep records, communicate with parents/guardians, and participate in school activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Education.
At least two years of post-graduation experience in teaching.
Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Mastery of office software including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Able and willing to live, work and travel in a fast-paced and insecure environment adhering to strict security guidelines.
