COREcruitment is an international recruitment company specializing in the hospitality, catering, leisure, FM, and service industry markets. On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Electrical Engineer to join their team in Nairobi.
Role Overview
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for interpreting electrical plans, coordinating designs, and supervising installations (LV/HV, lighting, distribution boards, and auxiliary systems). This role also involves testing, commissioning, and certifying systems to ensure compliance with NEC/IEC standards, alongside coordinating MEP subcontractors and managing site operations.
Key Responsibilities
Plan Interpretation & Design Coordination: Read and interpret electrical schematics and coordinate electrical designs.
Installation Supervision: Oversee low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) installations, lighting, DBs, and auxiliary systems.
Testing & Commissioning: Perform testing and commissioning procedures, including continuity, insulation, earth loop, and functional testing.
Compliance & Certification: Ensure compliance with NEC and IEC standards and issue Certificates of Compliance (COC).
MEP & Subcontractor Management: Coordinate MEP services and manage on-site subcontractors and electrical teams.
Education: Minimum of a BA, BSc, or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: Strong professional experience in accommodation or hospitality projects.
Technical Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in testing, commissioning, and certification, and experience with switchgear, transformers, earthing, and protection systems.
Leadership & Management: Strong ability to manage on-site electrical teams and operations.
Standards: Deep knowledge of international electrical standards (NEC, IEC).
