The Ecosystem Lead for the Education Sector at KCB Bank Kenya is responsible for driving the bank's strategy within the education value chain. This position involves developing and executing sector-specific strategies, identifying financial solutions tailored to learning institutions, driving revenue growth across lending and deposits, and deepening relationships with key ecosystem stakeholders including regulatory bodies, universities, and school associations.
Key Responsibilities
Market Intelligence & Strategy: Share market ecosystem trends and competitive analysis data with the strategy office and Business Units, aggregating this intelligence into a unified database. Develop and execute sector-specific strategies aligned with ecosystem needs.
Customer Value Propositions (CVPs): Develop learning institutions CVPs for adoption by Corporate and Retail divisions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Deepen KCB’s market position by engaging with government agencies, universities, associations of public and private schools, and regulatory bodies.
Revenue Growth: Increase learning institution sector lending, deposits, and transaction volumes through tailored financial products.
Risk Management: Implement credit structures that mitigate risks, such as trade credit insurance and learning institution guarantees. Coordinate with the Risk Function to apply a value-chain approach in credit risk assessment.
Innovation & Digital Solutions: Collaborate with product and IT teams to develop digital and financing solutions tailored to education ecosystem participants (e.g., ERPs, Lipa KARO, embedded finance, payment gateways).
Sales Alignment & Bundling: Coordinate with various business units for a unified sales approach, create onboarding programs, and offer bundled services across Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, Mortgage, Treasury, and Digital Financial Services (DFS).
Go-to-Market Strategies: Partner with the Marketing function to construct effective go-to-market strategies for ecosystem products.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in any relevant field (Required). Master's degree or relevant professional qualifications are an added advantage.
Total Experience: Minimum of 6 years overall experience.

6 years in Sales and Business Development
