Role Overview
The County Government of Nandi is seeking to recruit four (4) Economist II officers to join its planning and development department. This role involves the provision of critical economic planning data, conducting in-depth economic analysis, and formulating strategies to drive the county's development. The successful candidates will be responsible for identifying and evaluating development projects while ensuring effective monitoring of their implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Providing economic planning data and conducting detailed economic analysis.
Formulating development strategies for the county.
Identification, preparation, and evaluation of development projects and programmes.
Monitoring and evaluating project implementation to ensure objectives are met.
Conducting feasibility studies, determining project viability, and setting project priorities.
Collection, collation, and analysis of data relating to the production and marketing of agricultural and industrial products.
Computerization and analysis of statistical data.
Writing and submitting comprehensive reports on specific assignments.
Control and supervision of technical and other supporting staff.
Drawing up survey questionnaires and setting up control procedures for receiving and processing returns.
Requirements for Appointment
Must possess a minimum of an Upper Second-Class Honors Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Demonstrable strong research skills and capabilities.
