Kiambu County Government is seeking to recruit 60 qualified individuals for the position of ECDE Teacher III on a contract basis. The role involves managing classrooms and nurturing young learners in Early Childhood Development and Education centers within the county. The successful candidates will be responsible for creating an environment that fosters physical, social, and emotional growth through play and structured learning.
Duties and Responsibilities
Classroom Instruction: Conducting daily teaching activities and delivering the curriculum effectively.
Mentorship: Serving as a role model and providing guidance, counseling, and motivation to learners.
Reporting: Preparing and submitting periodic reports on student progress and activities.
Safety: Ensuring the security and physical well-being of all learners while at the center.
Activity Development: Identifying and facilitating play-learning activities that make learning enjoyable for children.
Material Preparation: Developing relevant and age-appropriate play and learning materials.
Record Keeping: Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, and daily programs, while maintaining accurate assessment and progress records.
Requirements for Appointment
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade C (Plain), or its approved equivalent.
OR Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade D+ (Plus) or its equivalent, plus a Certificate in Early Childhood Development and Education offered by KNEC or the Ministry of Education.
A Diploma in Early Childhood Development and Education offered by KNEC or its approved equivalent.
Must be registered by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Possession of a Certificate in Computer Applications.
At least two (2) years of relevant work experience.
Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 (Clearances from KRA, EACC, DCI, HELB, and CRB).
