The National Legal Aid Service (NLAS) is seeking to recruit qualified and dedicated individuals to fill the position of Driver II (5 Posts) under permanent and pensionable terms.\n\nThe role involves driving authorized motor vehicles, ensuring passenger and cargo safety, and conducting basic vehicle maintenance and routine checks.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n- Driving a motor vehicle as authorized.\n- Carrying out minor mechanical repairs.\n- Ensuring the safety of passengers and/or goods therein.\n- Maintaining cleanliness of the assigned vehicles.\n- Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle's cooling, oil, electrical, and brake systems, and tyre pressure.\n- Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems.\n- Carrying out minor repairs including oiling and greasing.\n- Maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned.\n- Ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\nFor appointments to this grade, a candidate must have:\n- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum mean grade D plain or its equivalent.\n- Valid Class BCE Driving License free from any endorsement.\n- Defensive Driving Certificate from a recognized institution.\n- Occupational Trade Test Grade II for drivers.\n- First Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution.\n- Proficiency in Computer application skills.\n- At least two (2) years of driving experience.\n\n### Remuneration\n- Ksh. 25,067 - Ksh. 37,351 per month (plus applicable scale increments: 25,067 x 1,754 – 26,821 x 1,755 – 28,576 x 1,755 – 30,331 x 1,755 – 32,086 x 1,755 – 33,841 x 1,755 – 35,596 x 1,755 – 37,351).
