Job Description
The Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (PSASB), a semi-autonomous State Agency established under the Public Finance Management (PFM) Act No. 18 of 2012, is looking for a qualified Driver I. The purpose of this role is to maintain the Board's vehicles in excellent working condition, provide safe and efficient transportation for authorized personnel and goods, and ensure full compliance with legal and safety requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conducting routine checks on vehicle cooling, oil, electrical, and brake systems, tire pressure, and other essential components.
Supervising, detecting, and reporting any malfunctions in vehicle systems.
Ensuring the accurate maintenance of work tickets for assigned vehicles.
Managing maintenance services and fueling schedules for the Board's motor vehicles.
Ensuring the safety and security of the vehicle both on and off the road.
Safeguarding passengers and goods during transit.
Complying with the traffic highway code and all safety precautions to prevent accidents and violations.
Developing quarterly reports for the assigned vehicle, covering servicing, incidents, accidents, fuel usage, and repairs.
Promptly reporting any accidents or incidents involving assigned vehicles.
Ensuring the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained.
Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience, with at least three (3) years at the level of Driver II or a comparable grade.
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (Plain) or its equivalent.
A valid driving license without any current endorsements for the authorized vehicle classes.
Passed Occupational Trade Test grade II for Drivers.
A valid First-Aid Certificate (at least one week duration) from St. John Ambulance, KIHBT, or a similar recognized body.
A Defensive Driving Certificate from the Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or an equivalent institution.
Completion of a refresher driving course (minimum one week) from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in standard computer applications.
Proven merit and capability in work performance and results.
