This role is based at the Aga Khan Academy Nairobi, operated by Aga Khan Education Service Kenya (AKESK). The Driver will ensure that all assigned vehicles are maintained in excellent and well-serviced condition, possessing all required documentation. The driver is responsible for professional transportation services for school staff and other stakeholders within Nairobi and its environs. Maintaining high standards of professionalism in daily operations and interactions with all stakeholders is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport staff, students, and visitors for school activities and official duties.
- Support logistical arrangements for school events, trips, and sports fixtures.
- Collect and deliver mail, documents, and packages as required.
- Run administrative errands and make minor purchases when assigned.
- Pay utility bills and school-related charges as instructed.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and good condition of assigned vehicles.
- Keep accurate trip, mileage, and fuel records.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety rules, and school policies.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory Requirements:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate.
- Valid Kenyan Driver’s License (Class D - D1/D2/D3) with PSV endorsement.
- A valid certificate of good conduct.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in driving.
Added Advantages:
- Driving experience in an educational set-up.
- Certification in Defensive Driving or First Aid.
- A basic understanding of the mechanical aspects of vehicles.
