We are seeking a Dockmaster to oversee and manage all operations related to the Syncrolift and transfer systems, ensuring the safe and effective execution of dry docking and undocking evolutions.
Role and Responsibilities
Lead all operations of the Syncrolift and transfer system in compliance with DGLOCALCOORDINST 3170.1 (Series).
Develop, prepare, and submit Dry Docking/Undocking Plans and Safety Procedures for approval prior to activities, as required by the Port Operations Officer.
Manage all aspects of dry docking operations safely and efficiently, incorporating shipyard experience into Syncrolift procedures.
Supervise and coordinate dry docking and undocking evolutions to ensure safety and operational compliance.
Remain available (or ensure a designated alternate is available) on-island at all times to support operations.
Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental standards during all tasks.
Manage, train, and oversee a team of personnel responsible for Syncrolift operations.
Work directly with the Port Operations Officer regarding schedules and safety guidelines.
Maintain accurate records and logs documenting operational data and safety compliance.
Provide training to the designated alternate and staff for proficient operations of the Syncrolift system.
Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in shipyard operations.
Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of dry docking.
Hands-on experience and technical expertise in managing Syncrolift and transfer systems.
Completion of manufacturer training in applying shipyard experience to Syncrolift operations.
Strong safety and risk management knowledge regarding dry docking and undocking procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent (KCSE).
Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
