The Director of Partnerships is a pivotal senior leadership role accountable for building, stewarding, and scaling Blue Ventures’ global partner network. This role is central to delivering impact at scale as a core pillar of the organization's strategy leading up to 2030.
Role Overview
The Director leads the Partner Network function and is responsible for managing the entire partner journey. This includes scoping and selection, relationship-building, needs and capacity assessments, multi-year partnership agreements, and ongoing stewardship. The role ensures Blue Ventures employs a consistent, efficient, and values-led model for supporting partner organizations through funding, technical assistance, and organizational strengthening to catalyze community-based fisheries management.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Oversee the Partner Network function and ensure alignment with the 2030 global strategy.
Partner Management: Manage the end-to-end partner journey, from scoping and selection to ongoing stewardship.
Capacity Building: Conduct needs and capacity assessments and provide technical assistance and organizational strengthening to partners.
Network & Movement Building: Foster lateral learning, peer exchange, and a global community of practice that centers coastal communities.
Impact Delivery: Ensure the partnership model effectively catalyzes and sustains community-based fisheries management and locally managed marine areas.
Agreement Management: Oversight of multi-year partnership agreements and supporting values-led engagement.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: Minimum of a BA/BSc/HND in a relevant field.
Experience: Proven senior leadership experience, specifically in building and scaling global partner networks.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement multi-year strategic partnership agreements.
Collaboration: Experience in relationship-building and movement-building across diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge: Understanding of community-based fisheries management or marine conservation is highly desirable.
