Role Overview
The County Valuation Officer is responsible for managing and executing property valuation processes within the county. This role involves overseeing valuation roles, conducting property inspections, and ensuring compliance with national laws and constitutional principles regarding land and property management.
Responsibilities and Duties
Initiating, reviewing, and supervising the preparation of valuation roles and supplementary valuation roles.
Coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating various valuation projects and programs.
Coordinating investigations into valuation disputes and appeals.
Preparing detailed projects related to valuation activities.
Collecting and analyzing market data for accurate valuation purposes.
Undertaking stamp duty valuations.
Inspecting land and properties for rating, purchase, sale, and leasing purposes.
Undertaking searches on titles in land registration for various administrative purposes.
Preparing relevant plans and processing gazettement notices for compulsory acquisitions and reservations.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Land Economics, Real Estate, Land Management, Property Studies, Land Administration, Survey and Physical Planning, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
Experience: At least three (3) years of relevant working experience.
Advanced Education: A Master’s degree in any of the listed fields is considered an added advantage.
Constitutional Compliance: Must demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the values and principles outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, and satisfy the requirements of Chapter 6.
