The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is a state office established to register, regulate, and administer political parties and the Political Parties Fund in Kenya.
The County Monitor will be responsible for monitoring the activities of political parties at the county level to ensure compliance with the Constitution, the Political Parties Act, the Code of Conduct for Political Parties, and other relevant laws within the county of deployment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring the activities of political parties to ensure compliance with the Constitution, the Political Parties Act, the Code of Conduct for Political Parties, and other relevant laws within the county of deployment.
Liaising with relevant government agencies on the implementation of the Code of Conduct for Political Parties within the county of deployment.
Providing training and sensitization support to political parties at the county level.
Liaising with the registration department on verified political parties’ membership lists.
Verifying membership status for aspirants.
Supervising constituency monitors and consolidating monitoring reports from the constituencies.
Preparing reports on county-level monitoring activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Laws, Public Administration, Education, Political Science, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Certificate in Computer Applications.
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Possess strong analytical skills.
Competence in report writing.
Willingness to work anywhere within Kenya.
Must be a resident of the County they wish to work in.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
