Responsibilities

• Administrative Leadership: Lead the administration of the county department and act as the primary accounting officer.
• Strategic Planning: Formulate and implement programs, strategic plans, and sector development plans to meet local and national goals (Vision 2030).
• Policy Implementation: Execute departmental policies and regulations while providing strategic direction for service delivery.
• Governance and Ethics: Ensure full compliance with the National Values and Principles of Good Governance and Public Service as outlined in the Constitution of Kenya.
• Operational Oversight: Perform departmental duties as assigned to ensure high-quality output and adherence to timelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Nationality: Must be a Kenyan citizen.
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Kenya is required. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in the relevant field, with at least 5 years at a senior/managerial level in a large organization.
• Registration: Membership or registration with a relevant professional body where applicable.
• Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability as a results-oriented strategic thinker with a deep understanding of county development objectives.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Technical Skills: Must be computer literate.
• Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic environment with respect for diversity.
