This is a senior executive leadership role as the County Chief Officer for the Livestock and Fisheries Department within the Trans Nzoia County Government. The Chief Officer is designated as the authorized officer and accounting officer for the department, reporting directly to the respective County Executive Committee Member.
Duties and Responsibilities
The specific duties of the Chief Officer include:
- Administration and oversight of the entire county department.
- Formulation and implementation of strategic programs aimed at achieving Vision 2030 goals and specific sector objectives.
- Development and execution of long-term strategic plans and short-term sector development plans.
- Implementation of relevant policies and regulatory frameworks.
- Providing strategic policy direction to ensure effective and efficient service delivery across the department.
- Ensuring strict compliance with the National Values and Principles of Good Governance and Values and Principles of Public Service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the County Executive Committee Member from time to time.
Requirements for Appointment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be a Kenyan citizen.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
- Possession of a Master’s degree in a relevant field is considered an added advantage.
- Must have vast knowledge and professional experience of not less than ten (10) years in the relevant field.
- Five (5) of those years must have been served in a senior or managerial position within a large organization.
- Must be registered with a relevant professional body, where applicable.
