The Agriculture Technician role at St. Joseph’s Technical Institute, Nyang’oma, is responsible for providing technical support and practical training to students, while also assisting in the operational management of the institution's farm, including crop production, livestock management, and financial record-keeping.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical support during training.
Assist in developing and implementation of farm operations.
Assisting in the preparation of farm budgets and accounts.
Assist in developing and implementation of crop / livestock duties.
Assist in preparation of annual farm budgets and accounts.
Take trainees through practical sessions.
Prepare crop production schedules.
Keep farm records.
Manage livestock in the farm.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the superiors.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following qualifications and requirements:
Diploma in General Agriculture / Farm Management from a recognized Institution or any other related field.
At least two years of experience, preferably in a learning Institution.
Strong practical skills in general Agriculture.
Knowledge of Competency based education and training (CBET).
Must be computer literate.
Must have a valid Certificate of good conduct.
