Role Overview
The Corporate Communications Officer II at the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that effectively convey the Authority’s mission and mandate to all stakeholders and the general public. This role involves a mix of content creation, media relations, event coordination, and technical support for communication activities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Event Coordination: Participate in organizing events by preparing necessary checklists and managing branding requirements for various functions.
Content Development: Provide first-hand drafts and institutional news briefs for editing, and contribute regular articles to the agency’s newsletters.
Digital Engagement: Assist in building awareness of the agency’s services by updating social media sites with relevant and timely institutional content.
Asset Management: Ensure that departmental equipment, branding materials, and other tools used during events are handled properly and maintained.
Media Support: Assist in drafting press releases and distributing them to media houses; monitor print and electronic media for information relevant to the agency.
Technical Operations: Set up and maintain audio-visual equipment, including microphones, projection screens, and public address systems, for meetings and conferences.
Visual Documentation: Provide photography and filming services during official functions and maintain an electronic archive of institutional images, videos, and press cuttings.
Strategic Planning: Provide input for the development of the department’s work plan and budget.
Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of departmental audio-visual equipment according to established procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Journalism, Mass Communication, Communication and Media, or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications is mandatory.
