The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is seeking to recruit 290 Constituency Monitors across the country. The Constituency Monitor will oversee and monitor compliance by political parties with the Constitution, Political Parties Act, and Code of Conduct for Political Parties at the constituency level, preparing key reports and engaging with stakeholders during pre-election, election, and post-election periods.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring compliance by political parties with the Constitution, the Political Parties Act, and the Code of Conduct for Political Parties at the constituency level.
Liaising with relevant government agencies on the implementation of the Code of Conduct for Political Parties.
Reporting findings arising during campaigns and elections, including election petitions, to the County Monitor.
Sensitizing political parties and candidates on the Code of Conduct for Political Parties and other relevant laws.
Preparing reports on the pre-election, election, and post-election activities of political parties.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Laws, Public Administration, Education, Political Science, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Certificate in computer applications.
Must be a Kenyan citizen.
Must possess strong analytical skills.
Competence in report writing.
Willingness to work anywhere within Kenya.
Must be a resident of the Constituency they wish to work in.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
