Job Description
The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu is looking for a Communications Officer (Locum) to develop and deliver effective internal and external communication strategies. The successful candidate will work to strengthen the hospital’s image, support patient engagement, and promote service awareness. This role involves creating compelling content, managing digital and social media platforms, designing visual materials, and upholding brand consistency across all communication channels.
Key Responsibilities
Communication Strategy: Develop and implement communication strategies to promote hospital services effectively.
Content Design: Design marketing and patient education materials, including brochures, posters, flyers, banners, presentations, and social media content.
Visual Content Creation: Produce visual content such as graphics, short videos, and animations for both digital and print platforms.
Media Relations: Build and maintain media relations and act as a liaison with external communication partners when required.
Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to gather stories, updates, and content needs.
Professional Writing: Write press releases, newsletters, and feature articles to highlight hospital milestones and initiatives.
Media Management: Coordinate media coverage and respond to media inquiries in collaboration with management.
Brand Integrity: Maintain brand consistency across all internal and external communications, ensuring professional use of logos, taglines, colors, and tone.
Departmental Integration: Work closely with other departments to integrate brand values into internal programs and materials like signage.
Digital Management: Manage and update the hospital’s website with current, accurate content.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor digital performance using analytics tools and adjust content strategies to enhance engagement.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media, or Public Relations.
Experience: At least 3 years’ proven working experience in social media marketing or digital media.
Design Skills: Proof of expertise in graphic design, video, and photo editing.
Core Competencies: Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation, and communication skills.
Technical Knowledge: Demonstrable social networking experience and knowledge of social analytics tools.
