Job Description
The Communications Officer will support the development and dissemination of content that highlights program activities and impact. The role focuses on strengthening visibility, engagement, and communication with key stakeholders through compelling storytelling and digital content.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Implementation: Support the development and implementation of communication strategies for ongoing projects.
Content Creation: Collect and produce communication materials including stories, blogs, photos, videos, and social media content.
Collateral Development: Develop program factsheets, brochures, and other communication materials.
Impact Storytelling: Produce engaging written and audio-visual content that showcases program impact.
Media & External Relations: Support media engagement and external communication activities while ensuring brand consistency.
Digital Management: Manage and update social media platforms and monitor engagement metrics.
Archiving: Maintain an organized archive of communication materials including photos, videos, and documents.
Field Support: Support program teams in documenting activities and capturing communication content from the field.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Media, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
Experience: 1–2 years’ experience in communications, digital media, or content production.
Technical Skills: Experience with digital photography, videography, and social media management.
Soft Skills: Strong writing and storytelling skills; ability to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
Tools: Proficiency in MS Office and social media platforms.
Languages: Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
