This is the entry and training grade for the Co-operative Officer cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer to support the administration and development of cooperative societies in Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities
Data Management: Collecting, collating, and compiling data related to various cooperative societies.
Document Verification: Reviewing and verifying documents for new cooperative registrations, applications, and amendments of by-laws.
Legal & Financial Oversight: Handling name searches, borrowing powers, indemnities, charges, debentures, and remittances.
Compliance: Compiling cooperatives' annual returns and managing the issuance/receipt of wealth declaration forms from cooperative officials.
Program Support: Assisting in the implementation of cooperative development programs and projects.
Policy Dissemination: Communicating and sharing cooperative policies, guidelines, and standards with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Cooperative Business, Cooperative Management, Cooperative and Community Development, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Agribusiness, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized university in Kenya.
