Role Overview
Penda Health is seeking a Clinical Officer specializing in Pediatrics to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. This role is central to our mission of transforming healthcare in East Africa, involving the diagnosis and management of various pediatric conditions while ensuring an unparalleled patient experience at affordable rates.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment: Deliver excellent care by promptly addressing patient concerns and performing thorough assessments, including detailed history-taking and physical exams for pediatric patients.
Clinical Management: Diagnose and manage pediatric illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions. Develop individualized care plans and provide emergency stabilization when necessary.
Health Education: Counsel and educate parents on essential topics such as child development, nutrition, and preventive care, as well as the management of chronic conditions and follow-up schedules.
Collaboration: Work closely with the broader healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care and facilitate referrals to specialists or inpatient facilities when required.
Continuous Improvement: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pediatric medical practices and protocols to ensure the highest standards of care.
Qualifications and Requirements
A Basic Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
A Higher National Diploma in Pediatrics.
At least 1-year post-training experience specifically in Pediatrics.
