Job Description
Huruma Maternity and Nursing Home is a level 4 medical institution licensed by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board. We are expanding our team and seeking a passionate and qualified Clinical Officer to join our healthcare facility.
Role Overview
The Clinical Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and adhere to established medical standards and ethics.
Responsibilities
Conduct patient consultations, physical examinations, and clinical assessments.
Diagnose and manage common medical conditions and surgical emergencies.
Prescribe appropriate medication and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
Perform minor surgical procedures within the scope of practice.
Provide emergency care and basic life support as required.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and patient documentation.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (nurses, specialists, lab technicians) for holistic patient management.
Ensure compliance with the legal and ethical standards of medical practice in Kenya.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Degree or Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
Licensing: Valid Registration certificate and a current practicing license from the Clinical Officers Council.
Experience: At least one (1) year of relevant clinical experience.
Technical Skills: Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Certifications: Training in BEMONC (Basic Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care), BLS (Basic Life Support), and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) is an added advantage.
Compliance: Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (Integrity and Leadership).
