The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the day-to-day management of the affairs of the Kakamega County Dairy Development Corporation (KDDC) as guided by the Board of Management. As the accounting officer, the CEO provides strategic leadership and is responsible for the overall administration, financial management, and operational coordination of the corporation.
Terms of Service
Salary Scale: Kshs. 124,630 - 172,350 per month (plus increments as per schedule).
Contract Duration: Three (3) years contract renewable for a further one (1) term, subject to performance.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the accounting officer and lead the administration of the Corporation.
Provide leadership in the management, development, review, and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure profitable operation.
Ensure compliance in financial management through resource mobilization, budgeting, and monitoring utilization.
Provide strategic leadership in developing and reviewing strategic plans, business models, and annual work plans.
Ensure proper interpretation and implementation of all Board decisions and resolutions.
Foster a corporate culture of professionalism, good governance, ethical practices, and innovation.
Develop strategic partnerships and collaborations with National and County Governments and development partners.
Formulate and update the Company’s Plan and Action Plan, including projections for expansion and facilities development.
Direct and coordinate company operations to ensure organs operate in conformity with overall plans and performance targets.
Promote the company’s image and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Advise the Board of Directors on technical, financial, and legal affairs.
Submit regular reports on revenue performance and Human Resource functions.
Requirements for Appointment
Be a Kenyan Citizen.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Production, Agri-Business, Food Science and Technology, or a relevant field from a recognized Institution.
A Masters’ degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Economics, Animal Production, Business Administration/Management, Strategic Management, or Agri-Business is an added advantage.
Minimum of ten (10) years of working experience, with at least five (5) years in senior management level in the public or private sector.
Be a member of a professional body.
Demonstrate understanding of business development, financial management, public policy, labour relations, corporate governance, and strategic management.
Knowledge of Local, National, and International policies governing the Agricultural and dairy sector.
Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
