The CBET Technologist in Medical Laboratory Science is responsible for supporting the teaching and learning environment at The Kisumu National Polytechnic. The role involves preparing materials for practical instruction, guiding learners during laboratory sessions, and ensuring the efficient management and safety of the medical laboratory facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Support: Prepare learning materials and carry out instructions to guide learners during practical lessons.
Laboratory Services: Provide support for Medical Laboratory services and maintain high standards of laboratory practice.
Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate Medical Laboratory records and documentation.
Inventory Management: Responsible for sorting, stocking, and monitoring laboratory inventory to ensure availability of supplies.
Safety and Compliance: Comply with rules, regulations, and procedures to maintain a clean and safe Medical Laboratory environment.
General Support: Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or authorized personnel.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: A Minimum of a Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologist and Technician Board (KMLTTB).
Professional Registration: Must hold a valid registration certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologist and Technician Board (KMLTTB).
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of working experience in the relevant field.
Technical Expertise: Must be well-conversant in Microbiology, Parasitology, Hematology, Histology, and Immunohematology practicals.
Digital Literacy: Proficiency in computer applications is required.
Communication: Excellent communication skills.
