China Mobile International Limited (CMI) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Mobile Limited, responsible for the operation of China Mobile’s international business. We are seeking a Carrier Sales Manager based in Nairobi to drive our data and capacity business. The role is primarily responsible for selling functions to carrier clients, achieving revenue targets, and maintaining strong customer relationships while supporting daily sales operations.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management: Manage relationships with carrier clients, acquire RFP invites, present competitive solutions, and manage the bidding process until deals are finalized.
Business Scope: Oversee capacity services including submarine cables, IP Transit, DIA, IPLC, IEPL, Cloud access, and colocation. To a lesser extent, cover Mobility services (exclusive of voice trading), IPX, devices, and A2P in the region.
Market Expansion: Explore new business opportunities and forge relations with target clients through networking and professional presentations of CMI’s capabilities.
Commercial Coordination: Act as the primary contact point for carrier partners, interfacing and organizing all commercial issues requested by or to partners.
Operational Support: Carry out daily pricing tasks for carrier clients and manage contracts with partners.
Regional Engagement: Travel within East Africa to meet clients and prospects and represent CMI at industry conferences.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree or above.
Experience: Minimum 7 years of sales experience in the telecom industry.
Regional Expertise: At least 3 years of hands-on sales experience specifically in the sub-Saharan African wholesale telecom market.
Soft Skills: Responsible, hardworking, self-motivated, and able to work effectively under pressure.
Communication: Excellent teamwork, coordination, and written/verbal communication skills in English.
