The Nairobi Securities Exchange PLC (NSE) is seeking a Capital Markets Infrastructure Project Manager for a fixed-term, project-specific engagement of up to 18 months. This mission-critical role focuses on delivering a single infrastructure modernisation initiative: a unified market infrastructure. The Project Manager will support the delivery of this unified system, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and according to scope. The role requires seamless integration across trading, depository, clearing, settlement, and surveillance components.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Manage and support the full project lifecycle for the unified market infrastructure initiative.
- Integration: Ensure smooth integration across key components, including trading platforms (ATS), CDSC, clearing, settlement, and surveillance.
- Compliance & Standards: Adhere to Capital Markets Authority (CMA) guidelines and ISO data security standards throughout the project.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage cross-functional teams and coordinate with external stakeholders, including vendors, regulators, and market participants.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication across all project phases and stakeholder groups.
- Tools & Methodology: Utilize Agile/Scrum or Waterfall methodologies and tools like MS Project, Jira, Confluence, or Trello for project tracking.
Requirements and Qualifications
Individual Applicants
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification: Professional certification in PMP, PRINCE2, or CSM (Certified Scrum Master) is mandatory.
- Experience: At least four (4) years of proven experience managing or supporting projects in Capital Markets, Fintech, or Banking.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with trading platforms (e.g., ATS) or CDSC integration is an added advantage.
- Methodology Expertise: Expert proficiency in Agile/Scrum or Waterfall (Prince2/PMP) frameworks.
- Tool Proficiency: Mastery of MS Project, Jira, Confluence, or Trello.
- Compliance: Knowledge of Capital Markets Authority (CMA) guidelines and ISO data security standards.
Entity Applicants
- Registration: Valid business registration certificate and KRA tax compliance certificate.
- Experience: Minimum six (6) years of experience as an entity delivering project management services in Capital Markets, Banking, or Fintech. Track record of at least three (3) large-scale technology projects with budgets exceeding KES 50 million.
- Resource: Must deploy a dedicated project manager with qualifications similar to the individual applicant requirements.
- Insurance: Valid professional indemnity insurance coverage with a minimum liability of KES 40 million.
- Standards: ISO 27001 certification or demonstrated information security management capabilities is an advantage.
