The Lead Analytics Engineer (RevOps & BI) is a critical role responsible for driving data ownership, building business intelligence assets, and powering go-to-market (GTM) analytics through engineering-grade data modeling and automated reporting.
Responsibilities
Data Ownership
- Build and maintain canonical tables (single, trusted tables for core concepts like leads, applicants, clients, loans, partners).
- Define and enforce data contracts (field names/types, valid values, refresh times).
- Track lineage by documenting every metric/table and its design.
- Build Python scripts via Jupyter/API to overcome platform limitations (e.g., Zoho Analytics) and push processed data back to analytics tools.
- Source new data opportunities and propose novel data capture methods.
Dashboards and Reporting
- Ship production-ready dashboards and scheduled reports that stakeholders actually use.
- Provide self-serve, curated views so non-analysts can filter and pivot data without SQL.
- Design dashboards for department heads and executive audiences with high usability.
- Ensure dashboards serve real decision-making needs.
GTM Analytics
- Report on funnel and portfolio performance based on marketing, operational, and customer data.
- Build channel/campaign views for marketing efforts, including CAC, payback, LTV, and attribution.
- Design lift studies (test vs. control) to estimate true incremental impact.
- Support monthly market expansion with segment-specific dashboards and insights.
- Run ticket queue with SLAs, project/task scoping, and clear stakeholder communication.
- Deliver weekly executive/GTM reports across Marketing, Sales, Ops, Risk, and Finance.
SQL, Python, and Pipelines
- Write and tune SQL and build Python scripts.
- Connect and troubleshoot APIs; set alerts and data quality tests; document runbooks.
- Use dbt-style modeling and CI/CD: versioned SQL models, automatic tests on changes, and safe promotion to production.
- Maintain automation inventory and progressively eliminate manual data workflows.
Data Quality & Validation Program
- Design and implement monthly audit methodology for CRM loan data (principal, markup, repayment schedules, etc.).
- Coordinate with CRM Ops and QA Engineers on validation processes and remediation workflows.
- Build automated verification checks for core analytics tables (nulls, negative values, outliers).
- Monitor data anomalies and own the error reporting and remediation workflow.
Strategic Growth & Automation
- Assess ad-hoc requests for recurring value and convert them into automated reporting.
- Maintain automation inventory with an improvement roadmap.
- Present findings to stakeholders and institutionalize valuable recurring insights.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years in analytics, BI, or analytics engineering with GTM-facing teams.
- Technical Skills: Advanced SQL (CTEs, window functions, query optimization) and strong Python (pandas, API connections).
- BI Tools: Track record of delivering production dashboards (Zoho Analytics experience strongly preferred).
- Domain Expertise: Marketing analytics expertise (funnel modeling, attribution, CAC/LTV analysis).
- Engineering Practices: Hands-on with REST APIs, job orchestration, dbt-style modeling, and CI/CD.
- Quality Assurance: Experience building data validation and quality assurance programs.
- Education: BA/BSc/HND degree qualification.
