The National Youth Service (NYS) is a premier agency through which the Government of Kenya executes youth empowerment. They are seeking to recruit 15 Cadet Officers to serve as Machine Operators on Permanent and Pensionable terms. This role includes a medical cover under the SHA Scheme of Civil Servants and requires successful candidates to undergo a mandatory nine-month paramilitary training program at the NYS Training College in Ruaraka.
Responsibilities
Operate specialized machinery and plant equipment within the Service.
Maintenance and routine checks on mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic systems.
Adhere to strict paramilitary discipline and standards of the National Youth Service.
Contribute to technical projects involving automotive and industrial engineering.
General Requirements
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Cadets must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum KCSE grade of C+ (plus).
Candidates with a Diploma must have a minimum of KCSE grade C- (Minus).
Be in possession of a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID) and KRA PIN Certificate.
Be between 18 – 28 years of age.
Have no criminal record and be medically fit.
Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
Hold a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Minimum Academic and Professional Qualifications
Must be in possession of a Diploma in any of the following disciplines:
Mechanical Engineering
Industrial Engineering
Mechatronics Engineering
Automotive Engineering
Plant and Machinery Engineering
Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution).
