The National Youth Service (NYS) is seeking to recruit qualified Kenyan citizens for the position of Cadet Officer - Hydrologist (4 Posts). This role is part of a premier agency through which the Government executes a comprehensive youth empowerment master plan. Candidates will be employed on permanent and pensionable terms.
Role Overview
Successful candidates will be responsible for hydrological assessments and environmental monitoring. The position involves both technical scientific work and adherence to the disciplined environment of the National Youth Service. All successful candidates MUST undergo a mandatory NYS paramilitary training for nine (9) months at the NYS Training College.
General Requirements
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Be in possession of a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID) and KRA PIN Certificate.
Be between 18 – 28 years of age.
Have no criminal record.
Candidates must be medically fit.
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of KCSE grade of C+ (plus).
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Be in possession of a Bachelor of Science degree in Hydrology, Environmental Science, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Salary and Benefits
Salary and Allowances: As existing in the NYS salary scale.
Medical Cover: SHA Scheme of Civil Servants.
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable.
