The National Youth Service (NYS) is seeking to recruit Cadet Officers in the field of Electrical Engineering. These are permanent and pensionable positions. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a mandatory nine-month paramilitary training at the NYS Training College in Ruaraka. The role is designed for disciplined individuals who wish to apply their professional engineering expertise within a premier government agency focused on youth empowerment and national service.
General Requirements
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum KCSE grade of C+ (plus).
Be in possession of a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID) and KRA PIN Certificate.
Be between 18 – 28 years of age.
Have no criminal record.
Candidates must be medically fit.
Must have a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
Minimum Academic and Professional Qualifications
Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Structural/Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Water Engineering, or Architecture from a recognized institution.
Be registered by the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer.

Salary and Allowances: As existing in the NYS salary scale.
Medical Cover: SHA Scheme of Civil Servants.
