The Business Operations Officer is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant execution of client investment transactions across all products in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The role supports operational integrity through reconciliations, suspense management, and effective stakeholder coordination. It also contributes to risk mitigation, reporting, and continuous improvement of operational processes and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Administration and Valuation: Review and post incomes and perform validation checks.
Cash Reconciliations: Perform daily reconciliations between the Custodian and Fund Manager records.
Regulatory Reporting: Handle reporting to regulatory bodies such as the CMA, RBA, and trustees, as well as property distribution notices.
Communication: Review email and post statements, contract notes, and receipts on a weekly basis.
Data Management: Review account openings, edit data in the system, and oversee all data capture for accuracy, integrity, timeliness, and risk management.
Analysis: Extract and prepare benchmark analysis reports from various sources.
Regional Support: Support BAM Uganda (UG) as per the hub and spoke model.
Other Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned and exercise authority as per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in banking, asset management, financial operations, or a similar environment.
Professional certification (CIS, CFA, CPA or progress towards the same) will be an added advantage.
Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
Good understanding of investment products, operational processes, and industry regulations.
