Job Description
The Business Development Representative role focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities for the company. The key objective is to seek out new business by contacting and cultivating relationships with key industry specifiers, including Architects, Quantity Surveyors, and Engineers.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Qualify leads generated from marketing campaigns as viable sales opportunities.
Contact potential specifiers through various channels, including site visits, phone calls, and emails.
Present the company and its offerings effectively to potential clients (architects, surveyors, engineers, etc.).
Identify specific client needs and propose appropriate products or services.
Build long-term, trusting relationships with specifiers.
Set up meetings or calls between prospective clients and Account executives.
Report sales results to the Business Development Manager on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis.
Stay informed and up-to-date with new company products/services and new pricing/payment plans.
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills Required
BSc degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive, or a similar role, ideally within the construction or building materials industry.
Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving sales quotas.
Familiarity with MS Excel, particularly for analyzing spreadsheets and charts.
Strong understanding of sales performance metrics.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to deliver engaging presentations.
