This position is responsible for implementing business development initiatives within GA Insurance Limited’s Kisumu branch. The role focuses on identifying and acquiring new intermediaries and managing existing relationships to boost the respective portfolios through effective cross-selling strategies and relationship management.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Business Growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the client base in Kisumu and surrounding regions.
Intermediary Management: Establish new intermediaries and manage them through visits and presentations to onboard and drive sales performance.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other key stakeholders.
Strategy Execution: Execute the branch business development strategy through intermediaries and direct selling to achieve budgetary goals.
Marketing: Market all company products at the branch level and develop strategic marketing plans to promote GA Insurance services.
Product Development: Participate in the formation of new business lines customized to local market needs.
Sales Performance: Ensure growth by increasing the strike rate of the quotations register and monitoring renewals.
Client & Stakeholder Support: Resolve client queries at the branch level and organize appreciation forums for intermediaries.
Training: Train intermediaries on industry developments, regulations, and emerging trends.
Reporting: Prepare business development reports, conduct market research, and present findings to management.
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Commerce or a business-relevant field.
Professional Qualification: Qualifications in insurance such as AIIK or ACII are considered an added advantage.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within the insurance industry.
Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of insurance industry concepts, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws.
Technical Competencies: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and market research skills.
Soft Skills: High degree of emotional intelligence, integrity, dependability, and an agile mindset with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
