Job Description
Talent Grid Africa is seeking a Business Development Manager for the healthcare industry. This role is centered on driving revenue growth and expanding market presence within the healthcare sector, specifically focusing on medical equipment and consumables. The successful candidate will oversee a sales team and manage strategic partnerships across East Africa.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive sales and business development strategies aligned with company objectives.
Lead, manage, and motivate the sales team to achieve both individual and overall performance targets.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships with distributors, healthcare institutions, and government entities.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent engagement, needs assessment, and tailored solutions.
Conduct market research to track industry trends, competitor activity, and evolving customer needs.
Deliver compelling product demonstrations to clients and stakeholders to drive conversions.
Lead high-value negotiations, finalize contracts, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategies.
Manage the sales pipeline, track performance metrics, and prepare regular reports for management.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (mandatory).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales and business development within the medical equipment or consumables sector.
Proven track record of driving business growth, expanding market share, and consistently achieving sales targets.
Prior experience working with distributors; regional (East Africa) exposure is an added advantage.
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing sales teams.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the region.
