The Budget Officer III is an entry-level professional position within the County Government of Bomet. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the county's budgetary functions, including the preparation, analysis, and monitoring of financial plans to ensure effective resource management and adherence to public finance regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting in the preparation of annual and supplementary budget estimates for the county.
Monitoring budget implementation and expenditure control across various departments.
Analyzing budget requests and financial reports to ensure accuracy and alignment with county goals.
Compiling and processing financial data for budget performance reviews and reporting.
Ensuring all budgetary processes comply with the Public Finance Management (PFM) Act and other relevant regulations.
Providing technical support during budget committee meetings and public participation forums.
Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Commerce (Finance option), Business Management, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
Alternative Qualification: Any other Bachelor’s degree provided it is accompanied by a Certified Public Accountant II (CPA II) qualification.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications is mandatory.
