Role Overview
The Brand Manager at Kenya Tea Packers Limited (KETEPA) is responsible for overseeing the formulation and implementation of marketing strategies to ensure increased revenue, profits, market share, and customer satisfaction. The role focuses on the realization of short-term and long-term company objectives through effective brand development and management.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Develop, implement, and monitor annual strategic brand plans, including the economic management of allocated budgets.
Market Monitoring: Monitor brand availability and sales, taking proactive measures on factors affecting brand sales and market share performance.
Market Research: Identify and recommend market research programs to enhance brand positioning; analyze data and take corrective actions for brand strategy enhancement.
Advertising & Promotion: Effectively manage brand advertising and sales promotions to generate brand growth.
Public Relations: Recommend, plan, and coordinate brand PR activities to enhance brand image and sales in the short or long term.
Competitor Analysis: Monitor competitor activities affecting the brand and take appropriate corrective actions.
Product Development: Monitor, evaluate, and recommend brand-packaging updates, including pack and range extensions and new product development in liaison with the Head of Sales and Marketing.
Financial Control: Continuously monitor brand costs and profitability; prepare monthly expenditure and variance reports to control budgeted spending.
Media & Intelligence: Plan and implement brand media strategies and perform regular trade visits for market intelligence.
Agency Management: Supervise external agencies and conduct continuous review sessions to ensure alignment with marketing goals.
Internal Coordination: Interact with Area sales managers to give updates on implementation of Brand strategic plans.
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (CIM).
Minimum 5 years’ working experience in Brand Management within the FMCG industry, with at least 2 years at a management level.
