Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) is seeking a Branch Manager for its Narok Branch. The role is centered on driving growth, ensuring branch profitability, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for managing both liability and asset portfolios, setting strategic directions for the branch, and maintaining high standards of operational excellence. The position requires a leader who can effectively manage resources, mitigate risks through strict compliance with banking regulations, and mentor a high-performing team to achieve institutional goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Profitability: Develop and monitor the branch's liability and asset portfolios to ensure profitability and market competitiveness. Proactively set and implement branch-specific strategies in alignment with the Bank’s retail banking objectives.
Operational Management: Oversee daily operations to ensure superior service delivery, efficient resource utilization, and cost reduction. Implement robust corporate governance to minimize fraud and operational losses.
Customer Excellence: Manage customer complaints and continuously review service standards to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
Financial Planning: Forecast and monitor branch sales, costs, and expenditures against budgets, taking remedial actions when variances occur.
Team Leadership: Manage branch human resources by coaching, mentoring, and developing staff within a performance management framework.
Risk & Compliance: Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Credit policies, and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures to prevent losses and regulatory penalties.
Qualifications and Experience
A University Degree from a recognized institution in any field.
A Master's Degree is considered an added advantage.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in General Banking.
At least 6 years of experience specifically as a Branch Manager in a banking environment.
Proven experience in Sales, Personal, Business, or Retail Banking.
Technical expertise in Credit Analysis and administration.
Solid experience in Bank operations including Cash Management, Clearing, Accounts, and Administration.
A consistent track record of high performance over the last three years.
Deep understanding of Retail Banking products and the broader banking industry.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated leadership skills and competency in championing performance management.
