This is a part-time, remote Book Keeper role at CDL Human Resource, specifically requiring expertise in QuickBooks Online and experience working with US-based companies. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, perform account cleanups, and ensure financial records are investor-ready.
Key Responsibilities
QuickBooks Online Bookkeeping & Cleanup: Maintain accurate day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Review and clean up historical transactions as needed to ensure the books are accurate and investor-ready. Ensure consistent transaction coding and a clean, usable chart of accounts in alignment with the owner’s reporting needs.
Monthly Close, Reconciliation & Accuracy: Reconcile all connected accounts monthly (bank accounts, lines of credit, and credit cards). Investigate and resolve discrepancies such as duplicates, missing entries, or miscoding. Keep accounts current so financials reflect the real-time health of the business.
Financial Reporting for Management: Produce clear monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Cash flow visibility. Provide reporting that helps leadership answer practical questions regarding costs and margins.
Payables/Receivables Support: Support accurate vendor/expense tracking and documentation. Help keep customer invoices/receipts organized within the bookkeeping workflow.
Documentation & Process: Maintain organized digital records of receipts, supporting docs, and reconciliations. Create simple, repeatable bookkeeping procedures to reduce month-end friction.
Future Scope: Provide light budgeting support and simple forecasting views. Track basic KPIs like gross margin trends and operating expense trends. Coordinate with external accountants during tax time to ensure books are handed off cleanly.
Requirements and Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of high-level bookkeeping experience (small business preferred).
US Company Experience: Must have 3+ years of working experience with a US Based company using QuickBooks Online.
Education: BA/BSc/HND degree.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required) and Excel / Google Sheets (formulas, accuracy checks, clean reporting).
Communication: Clear, professional English communication (written and verbal); able to summarize issues and next steps concisely.
Attributes: Excellent attention to detail, commitment to clean, audit-ready books, and strong integrity with financial information. Comfortable handling high transaction volume and working independently with deadlines.
