The Billing Analyst for the Africa Business unit is responsible for managing and maintaining a client portfolio through timely and accurate invoicing in accordance with agreed premiums and frequencies.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Management: Manage and maintain a client portfolio, coordinating with internal stakeholders regarding new business, renewals, and credit control.
Group Setup: Review and set up new groups for related products, premiums, benefits, and enrolment.
Invoicing: Review and bill clients in accordance with the agreed billing frequency.
Client Relationship Management: Engage with clients to build working relationships and provide education around invoicing and payment processes to ensure consistency across regions.
Regional Coordination: Coordinate and maintain the individual portfolio, liaising with the Middle East and European finance teams.
Query Resolution: Respond to client queries regarding eligibility and billing, liaising with Sales and Client Management Teams as appropriate.
Reporting: Provide reports on invoicing, commissions, and credit control to management as required.
Credit Control: Follow up and report on outstanding premium payments in line with credit control procedures, coordinating with Client Managers, Credit Controllers, and Legal Services.
Commissions: Ensure accurate and timely settlement of commission due to brokers and manage broker set-up.
Compliance: Maintain Africa market-specific requirements and ensure they are adhered to.
Continuous Improvement: Identify potential improvements and make recommendations to the Team Leader.
Data Accuracy: Maintain accurate files for each client regarding related products, coverage, and contacts.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree or Diploma.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the insurance market.
Specialized Experience: 1-2 years of billing experience is desired.
Technical Skills: High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; good analytical and numeric skills.
Competencies: Strong problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Soft Skills: Great rapport building, communication skills, and customer focus.
Operational Skills: Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage workflow to meet individual and team standards under pressure.
