Job Description
The Baker is responsible for preparing bakery menu items according to established recipes on a regular and consistent basis, ensuring all food quality standards are met within the facility.
Principal Accountabilities
Check and ensure that all bakery products are consistently prepared at the highest quality standards.
Ability to use standardized recipes effectively.
Use weights and measures to adjust ingredients in recipes.
Maintain strict personal hygiene and ensure the work area is kept clean and sanitized at all times.
Oversee other staff members in the absence of the Head Baker.
Record production and waste on a regular and consistent basis.
Accurately complete the daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning lists.
Ensure that all food preparation is completed for the next shift.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationships
Title of Supervisor: Head Baker, Chef or other title may vary
Knowledge & Skills
Good English communication skills and ability to interact effectively with customers and other personnel.
Knowledge of food service and sanitation standards.
Willing to learn and grow in food service abilities.
Ability to multi-task and handle service points such as grille and food preparation.
Ability to consistently arrive punctually and contribute to a positive dining atmosphere.
Experience & Education
Minimum one (1) year of experience baking in a full-service or institutional food service environment.
High school diploma or equivalent (KCSE).
Possess a ServSafe certification or equivalent.
