Job Description
Role Overview
This is the entry grade for Assistant Vocational Trainers (Craft level). The trainer will work under the guidance of the head of the institution to deliver vocational training and maintain high standards of instructional quality in the area of Welding and Fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction: Provide instruction in Welding and Fabrication in accordance with the established syllabus.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, and trainee records.
Learning Materials: Develop and maintain relevant teaching and learning materials for effective training.
Assessment: Conduct regular trainee assessments both in the classroom and during industrial attachments.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper care, maintenance, and security of workshop tools and equipment.
Co-curricular Activities: Organize and lead co-curricular activities for trainees.
Student Welfare: Maintain trainee discipline and provide support through guidance and counseling.
Requirements for Appointment
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Academic/Technical Qualification: Possess a Craft Certificate or Master Craft III certificate in Metal Processing, Welding and Fabrication, or an equivalent technical discipline from a recognized institution.
Professional Registration: Be registered by the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
Pedagogical Training: Have completed training in pedagogical skills from an accredited institution.
