Job Description
Role Overview
This is the entry grade for Assistant Vocational Trainers (Craft Certificate level). The Assistant Vocational Trainer III will work under the guidance and supervision of a head of institution. The primary objective of this role is to provide technical instruction in Motor Vehicle Mechanics, ensuring students gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills according to the syllabus.
Responsibilities
Deliver technical instruction in Motor Vehicle Mechanics in accordance with the established syllabus and curriculum standards.
Develop and maintain comprehensive professional records, including schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, and trainee records.
Create, prepare, and maintain teaching and learning materials to enhance instructional delivery.
Conduct trainee assessments through regular classroom evaluation and during industrial attachments.
Oversee the proper care, inventory, and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment used in training.
Facilitate and participate in co-curricular activities for trainees.
Manage trainee discipline by providing guidance, mentorship, and counseling services.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must possess a Craft Certificate or Master Craft III certificate in Motor Vehicle Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Registration by the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) is mandatory.
Completion of training in pedagogical skills from an accredited institution.
Demonstrable technical competence in Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
