Job Description
Role Overview
This is the entry grade for Assistant Vocational Trainers. The Trainer at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of a head of institution to instruct trainees in Information and Communication Technology.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction: Instruct in ICT areas of specialization in accordance with the prescribed syllabus.
Preparation: Prepare and maintain essential teaching documents including schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, and teaching/learning materials.
Assessment: Carry out trainee assessments both in class and while on industrial attachment.
Maintenance: Ensure the proper care, security, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and laboratory facilities.
Mentorship: Maintain trainee discipline through guiding and counseling.
Extracurricular Activities: Conduct and participate in co-curricular activities for trainees.
Records Management: Maintain accurate trainee records and progress reports.
Requirements for Appointment
Education: Must possess a Craft Certificate or Master craft III certificate in Computer Studies, Computer Science, or Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from a recognized institution.
Professional Registration: Must be registered by the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
Pedagogical Training: Possession of training in pedagogical skills from an accredited institution.
