Job Description
Bungoma County is seeking to recruit qualified individuals for the position of Assistant Vocational Trainer III specializing in Fashion Design and Garment Making. This is an entry-level grade for Assistant Vocational Trainers holding a Craft Certificate. The Trainer at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of a Head of Institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Instruct trainees in areas of specialization (Fashion Design and Garment Making) in accordance with the prescribed syllabus.
Prepare and maintain essential teaching documents including schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, and trainee records.
Develop and organize teaching and learning materials for effective delivery.
Carry out regular trainee assessments both in class and while on industrial attachment.
Ensure the proper care, maintenance, and security of tools and equipment in the workshop.
Conduct and supervise co-curricular activities for trainees.
Maintain trainee discipline through effective guidance and counseling.
Requirements for Appointment
Must possess a Craft Certificate or Master Craft III certificate in Clothing, Fashion Design, and Textile Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Must be registered by the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
Evidence of training in pedagogical skills from an accredited institution.
