Jumuia Resorts is a chain of Christian conference centers and hospitality facilities owned and operated by the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK). We are looking for an Assistant Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our organization, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience for all visitors and clients. This role is critical for managing guest flow, facilitating communication, and supporting the daily administrative operations that keep the front office running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Reserve, register, and assign rooms to guests while providing continuous information during their stay.
Brief guests on hotel services and nearby amenities.
Prepare guest statements, bills, and final invoices for settlement.
Handle guest lost-and-found items according to protocol.
Maintain weekly and monthly client forecasts for business follow-up.
Obtain guest feedback and take prompt action on any issues.
Receive and distribute guest mail to the respective departments.
Solve guest problems to ensure high satisfaction.
Coordinate special needs (e.g., airport shuttles, special diets, or disability care) with other department heads.
Conduct sales, marketing, and promotions via phone, website, and social media.
Prepare and submit daily departmental sales reports to the accountant.
Maintain professional front office standards to meet business needs and customer focus.
Handle all revenues transparently, ensuring accurate records and safety of funds.
Implement the Jumuia Resorts Strategic plan and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: At least Secondary School Education (KCSE).
Professional Training: At least a Diploma in Business Management/Business Administration or a Certificate in Front Office Operations.
Experience: Must have worked in a similar position for at least one year.
Hygiene & Grooming: Must maintain the highest standard of hygiene, appearance, and social skills at all times.
Communication: Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Attributes: Must have drive, initiative, creativity, and be a good planner and team player.
