The County Government of Lamu is seeking to recruit a qualified and competent individual to fill the position of Assistant Quantity Surveyor II. This role is essential for the effective management of building and infrastructure projects within the county, focusing on cost management and procurement processes. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior surveyors to ensure value for money and technical compliance in all county construction activities.
Responsibilities
Assisting in the preparation of Bills of Quantities and tender documents.
Participating in site measurements and valuations for interim payment certificates.
Assisting in cost estimation and budgeting for various county building projects.
Supporting the administration of construction contracts and monitoring project expenditures.
Contributing to the preparation of project financial reports and final accounts.
Ensuring all work adheres to the professional standards of the Architectural Association of Kenya and the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, the officer must:
Be a Kenyan Citizen (National Identity Card/ Passport);
Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Building Economics / Quantity Surveying or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
Be Registered as a Graduate member of either the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) or the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK);
Possess a Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution;
Have shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
